The government will begin a pilot program from July to distribute free school uniforms, jute-made school bags and shoes among primary school students, Education Adviser A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon said on Wednesday. He made the announcement after an inter-ministerial meeting at the Secretariat.

The program will start in government primary schools and later be expanded to all students across upazilas, with plans to include madrasas and high schools in the future. BGMEA has pledged to provide uniforms, bags and shoes for 100,000 students, while other institutions and organizations are also expected to join the initiative.
