England-based winger Adam Abbas is set to join the Bangladesh Under-20 team ahead of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers in Uzbekistan, scheduled from August 31 to September 5. Bangladesh Football Federation Vice-President Naser Shahriar Zahedee said the 19-year-old footballer would arrive in Bangladesh and join the training camp within four to five days.

Abbas has experience with the Manchester United youth setup and Burnley Under-18 team. The federation began contacting him in April after its technical team reviewed his profile and performance footage, while his passport process has since been completed. Bangladesh will face Syria, India and host nation Uzbekistan in Group B of the qualifiers.
