Israel Resumes War on Gaza

Israel resumes war on Gaza shattering any hope for peace by resuming its indiscriminate bombing campaign on Gaza, killing more than 400 people in just a few hours. The attacks, carried out under the cover of night, struck residential buildings, makeshift shelters, and even schools—places where civilians, including children, were seeking refuge. According to reports, entire families have been wiped out, and an unknown number of victims remain trapped under the rubble.

The Ceasefire That Was Never Meant to Last

Israel claims that it resumed its military operation to pressure Hamas into releasing captives and prevent the group from rearming. However, this justification falls apart under scrutiny. Al Jazeera’s Hamdah Salhut revealed that Israel itself walked away from negotiations meant to lead to the release of all remaining captives. Instead of pursuing diplomatic solutions, Israel, with full backing from the U.S., escalated its assault, ensuring the continuation of what many experts have called a genocidal campaign against Palestinians.

Hamas, in response, accused Israel of violating the ceasefire and committing crimes against humanity. The group pointed out that many of the wounded died simply because Israeli attacks have crippled Gaza’s already overwhelmed medical system, preventing them from receiving treatment.

The U.S. Greenlighted the Bloodshed

The White House confirmed that Israel consulted with the U.S. before launching these fresh attacks, signaling once again Washington’s complicity in the ongoing massacre. The U.S. government has the power to pressure Israel into stopping its war, but instead, it has repeatedly provided weapons and political cover for Israel’s actions, enabling the continued slaughter of Palestinian civilians.

A War Beyond Gaza

Israel’s aggression is not limited to Gaza. It has been bombing southern Lebanon for months, violating ceasefire agreements and escalating tensions with Hezbollah. It has also launched airstrikes in Syria, claiming to target remnants of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, despite there being no clear justification for why this would concern Israel. Meanwhile, in the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces have intensified raids on refugee camps, under the pretense of “rooting out Palestinian fighters”—a claim debunked by experts who have made it clear that these groups were formed as a response to Israeli aggression.

A War of Occupation, Not Self-Defense

Israel insists that its war is about hostages and security, but its actions paint a different picture. The reality is that this war was never about captives—it was about ensuring permanent Israeli military control over Gaza and continuing a campaign of ethnic cleansing against Palestinians. The fact that Israel refused to put in writing that it would not restart attacks after the ceasefire’s first phase speaks volumes.

This war has never been about security. It has always been about conquest. And as long as Israel continues to wage this brutal campaign, backed by the full might of the U.S., the Palestinian people will continue to pay the ultimate price.
