The Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) held a workshop titled “Dialogue with Students on CAB’s Proposed Energy Transition Policy 2024 for a Just Transition” at the University of Rajshahi on 28th February, in collaboration with Green Voice, RU. The program focused on discussions around reforming Bangladesh’s energy sector, the methodology behind energy price determination, irrational costs and profit margins in the supply system, and the expansion of renewable energy. Interactive sessions allowed students to engage deeply with the CAB Proposed Energy Transition Policy 2024 and its relevance in shaping a more equitable and sustainable energy landscape for the country.
CAB has been a leading force in mobilizing youth participation in policy discussions, with initiatives aimed at integrating Gen Z into public policy discourse. Their ongoing efforts, including workshops, seminars, press meetings, and roundtables, culminated in their flagship event, “CAB Youth Parliament 2025: Session on Energy Transition,” bridging the gap between young future policymakers and experts. CAB’s programs on Just Energy Transition awareness and policy advocacy are set to continue through the ‘CAB Youth Parliament 2026,’ scheduled for later in 2026.
