The United Nations Youth and Students Association of Bangladesh (UNYSAB) organised an event titled “Eid for Street Children 2026” in Dhaka to share the joy of Eid with underprivileged children who often miss out on festive celebrations. Held on 6 March at the Bishwa Shahitya Kendra in Banglamotor, the programme brought together more than 100 street children for a day filled with celebration, creativity, and companionship. The initiative aimed not only to distribute gifts but also to ensure that these children could experience the warmth and happiness of the Eid festival.
During the event, the children participated in activities such as Eid card making, henna application, and storytelling, creating a lively and colourful atmosphere. Each child also received new Eid clothes, helping them feel included in the festive spirit. Volunteers from UNYSAB spent time interacting with the children, listening to their stories and dreams while celebrating together. According to the organisation, the initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to humanitarian work and youth-led efforts to support disadvantaged communities and build a more inclusive society.
